STAIRLIFT ANGELS INITIATIVE

STAIRLIFT ANGELS is an initiative, conceived by the Directors and Staff of Hertfordshire based EMS Stairlifts, to return something meaningful to the communities we serve and who form our customer base, supporting our business year on year.

Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Charities across our region fund the installation of hundreds of Stairlifts every year for those people who would otherwise be unable to stay in their own homes.

Every year though there are those who, for whatever reason, are not able to attract the help they need They might have a little too much savings to qualify for a disabled facilities grant, their local authority may have already spent its allocation or they may have been promised help but it's simply going to take too long.

For these people the prospects are not ideal. The "lucky" ones may be able to spend part of their savings to purchase their own Stairlift, others will persevere with the stairs, even though it may be dangerous or painful for them. Some will resign themselves to living on the ground floor and turn their living room into a bedroom; in extreme cases, some may have to move out of their home altogether, to be cared for elsewhere.

We frequently encounter very deserving cases where people have given so much to their community or country throughout their lives but because of their own financial prudence ultimately deny themselves any assistance with the provision of this equipment when it is desperately needed. It is these people we want to help.

STAIRLIFT ANGELS has been born out of a desire to help as many of those people as we can. Simply put; EMS Stairlifts will donate one stairlift every month, completely free of charge, to a qualifying, deserving applicant in the region serviced by us. The stairlift will be assessed, surveyed and installed by our own engineers and will attract the same warranty and high quality 24/7 service cover as every other Stairlift or disabled persons lifting equipment we supply.

The model of stairlift supplied will be at the discretion of EMS Stairlifts, but will be fully specified to meet the users' needs, working in conjunction with their occupational therapist where appropriate. Whilst the majority of the stairlifts will be for straight staircases, curved stairlifts will also be made available for the scheme.

To apply to be considered for a stairlift under the Stairlift Angels Initiative, simply go to the application form on this website. If you can answer "yes" to questions 1 - 5, you qualify for consideration, if so, complete the rest of the form and submit it to us. We will notify you within 2 months whether you have been successful or not. If you are not successful we will retain your application for consideration every month for the next 3 months. After which, if you are still unsuccessful, you are welcome to re apply.
